Dr. Marina Polonsky - Canada
Symposium Host • Panel Moderator • Associate Fellowship Examination
Based in Ottawa, Canada, Dr. Marina Polonsky maintains a private general practice focused on multi-disciplinary treatment utilizing lasers of different wavelengths. She serves as Chief Editor of the Journal of Laser-Assisted Dentistry (JLAD), Chief Editor of the Laser Dentistry issue of the Oral Health Journal, and a peer-reviewer for Lasers in Dental Science (LIDS) by Springer.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Toronto with the Dean’s Gold Medal of Achievement, she earned her Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. She holds Mastership certifications from both the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI) and the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD), and is a recognized member of the ALD Speaker Bureau.
Founder of the Canadian Dental Laser Institute (CDLI) — the only ALD-affiliated international study club in Canada — she teaches laser safety, Diode, and Erbium certification courses worldwide, and serves as Key Opinion Leader and Clinical Mentor for Biolase Technologies Inc., contributing to the development of the Waterlase Express all-tissue laser system. She is the author of multiple scientific papers, reviews, and case reports on laser applications in dentistry.
Prof. Joseph Aranabat - Spain
Session 1 — Laser Physics
Prof. Josep Arnabat i Dominguez earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1981. A couple of his accomplishments include: Medical Specialist in Stomatology from University of Barcelona and Doctor in Medicine and Surgery (PhD) from University of Barcelona.
Prof. Arnabat is a member of the Spanish Society of Periodontology, Spanish Society of Laser Odonto-Stomatology and World Federation for Lasers in Dentistry. He also has a Diplome Interuniversitaire European, les Lasers Medicaux 2001 He is a Professor of the Master degree program in Oral Surgery and Implantology in Dentistry School at the University of Barcelona, Spain and Co- Director at the Master laser in Dentistry EMDOLA (European Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications) University of Barcelona. Spain
Responsible for international relations of Dentistry School. Faculty of Medicine and Health of Science. He loves to practice with lasers and has 2 Private dental practice in Barcelona, Spain. As a professor he has collaborated in 6 dentistry books, 24 Publications in JCR-index dental Journals,14 Publications in Spanish Journals and has lectured in over 100 communications to national Congresses and over 40 at internationals Congresses.
Prof Arnabat belongs to several scientific societies as Member of the WFLD Past -Chairman of the European division (2012-14), founder of Spanish Society of Laser in Dentistry SELO and Past-President (2010-14), founder of Spanish Society of Oral Surgery, member of Spanish Society of Periodontology, and member of Spanish Society of Dental Prosthesis.
Dr. Selene Kuo - Taiwan
Session 2 — Restorative Dentistry
Clinical Assistant Professor and Course Leader for Digital Dentistry at Taipei Medical University School of Dentistry, Prosthodontics Division, Dr. Hsin Yu Kuo (Selene Kuo) has served in this role since 2017. She is also Founder of DentSTech, a digital dental platform, and President of the Academy of Digital Aesthetic Dentistry, Taipei.
Her training includes a DDS (2009) and Master of Dental Science with Certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics (2011) from Kaohsiung Medical University, a Master of Science and Certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (2016), and an Executive MBA from National Taiwan University (2022), alongside advanced training at New York University College of Dentistry.
As a Key Opinion Leader for 3Shape (Global), Straumann Group, BEGO, Ivoclar Vivadent, and ClaroNav, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Dental Implantology and the Chinese Academy of Implant and Esthetic Dentistry (CAID), Taiwan. She holds a US patent (US11,547,537 B2), has published in the Journal of Dental Science and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, and lectures internationally across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Dr. Issac Kably Mizrahi - Mexico
Session 3 — Endodontics
An Endodontist and Specialist in Laser Dentistry and Neuromodulation based in Mexico City, Dr. Isaac Kably Mizrahi currently serves as Senior Lecturer at Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna (SFU) and as faculty at the European Laser Academy (ELA) and the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI). He has been in private practice in endodontics for over 20 years.
He earned his DDS from Universidad Tecnológica de México (UNITEC) and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics at NYU College of Dentistry. Additional qualifications include an M.Sc. in Lasers in Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, a Postgraduate Specialization in Non-Invasive Neuromodulation from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, and Masterships in Laser Dentistry from both AALZ/RWTH Aachen and WCLI.
Currently serving as President of AMOLMI and as Laser Safety Officer (LSO) for AALZ, he also holds a Sleep Medicine Certification from AASM. A published author in peer-reviewed journals including Nature Scientific Reports, he has served as Principal Investigator in international research collaborations across Europe, the USA, and the Middle East, and has lectured in 18 countries.
Dr. Arun Darbar - UK
Session 4 — Photobiomodulation
Founder and Director of Smile Creations® Innovations Limited in Leighton Buzzard, UK, and Co-Founder of GMA Laser Education, Dr. Arun Darbar brings over 40 years of clinical experience in laser and aesthetic dentistry, and is recognized as a pioneer in Low-Level Laser Therapy and Photobiomodulation Therapy using high-power surgical lasers with diffusers.
He holds Master and Certified Educator status with the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) and Master, Educator, and Founder Member status with the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI), as well as Accredited Member and Past Director of Credentialing status with the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and Fellowship and Diplomate status with the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry (WCMID).
Currently serving on the ALD Board of Directors as Treasurer and Chair of Education and Certification, he has previously chaired the International Relations Committee and published in SPIE proceedings and at WALT, ASLMS, WFLD, and other international bodies. A reviewer for LIMS and JBO and contributing author to multiple laser dentistry textbooks, he received the John G. Sulewski Distinguished Service Award in 2017.
Dr. Ali Obeidi - USA
Session 5 — Esthetic Dentistry & Crown Lengthening
A prosthodontist with advanced expertise in laser dentistry and biomaterials, Dr. Ali Obeidi served as a full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he designed and co-directed the institution’s laser dentistry curriculum for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. His research focuses on laser interactions with dental materials and practical clinical laser protocols.
He holds a DDS and MSc, and completed formal academic training in laser dentistry at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry–Biomaterials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and advanced specialty training in Prosthodontics at Rutgers University.
A member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) since 2007, he became a Fellow in 2010 and earned the Advanced Proficiency certification in 2016. He currently serves on the ALD Board of Directors as Director-at-Large, chairs the Communications Committee, and contributes to the Education, Certification, Nomination, and Safety Committees. He also serves as Editor of Lightwave, the ALD’s official newsletter.

Dr. Rishita Jaju - USA
Session 1 — Various Case Applications (Pediatric, Orthodontics)
A Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and Harvard-trained clinician, Dr. Rishita Jaju is Founder of Smile Wonders in Reston, Virginia, and Founder of the Pediatric Laser Academy. She is a TEDx speaker, author, and a published expert in Pediatric Laser Dentistry.
She received her DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her specialty training and Chief Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, where she continues to serve as Visiting Clinical Faculty. She holds Master status, Advanced Proficiency certification, and a Board of Directors seat with the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD), and Mastership certification with the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI).
Through the Pediatric Laser Academy, she supports pediatric and general dentists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, speech pathologists, and allied healthcare professionals through live and virtual training. She has lectured at the ALD, the WCLI Annual Conference, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA), TEDxWilmington, Walter Reed Medical Center, and multiple US university pediatric dental residency programs.
Dr. Ariel Savion - Israel
Session 2 — Implant & Surgery
Specializing in laser periodontics, microscopic surgery, and oral implantology, Dr. Ariel Savion is a clinician in private practice in Rishon Le-Zion, Israel. He is a member of the Berlin Implantology Research Group (BIRG) and holds Diplomate status — the highest clinical rank — with the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI).
His academic credentials include a DMD from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (2007), an LLB from the College of Management Academic Studies, Israel (2015), an M.Sc. in Lasers in Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University, Germany (2020), and an M.Sc. in Oral Implantology from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany (2022). He is currently a PhD candidate (expected 2029).
Founder of the MPT (Microsurgical Piezo Therapy) concept and the BP-MLT (Bio-Photonic Microsurgical Laser Therapy) protocol — a breakthrough approach for minimally invasive periodontal and implant treatments — he contributes to cutting-edge clinical research as an international researcher and key opinion leader, and lectures internationally on the integration of advanced laser and microscopy technologies in minimally invasive dentistry.
Dr. Preety Desai - Canada
Session 3 — Tissue Management
A Periodontist and Founder of a full-time specialty private practice in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, Dr. Preety Desai offers a full range of periodontal and implant procedures including laser-assisted surgery using Er,Cr:YSGG, Er:YAG, Nd:YAG, and diode lasers. Since 2007, she has also served as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Graduate and Undergraduate Periodontics at the University of British Columbia.
She received a BSc in Human Biology from the University of Toronto (1985), a DDS from McGill University (1989), a Diploma in Periodontics from the University of British Columbia (1995), and an MSc in Laser Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University, Germany (2016). She attained WCLI Mastership in 2019.
An active international lecturer, she has presented at the WCLI World Congresses, American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), ALD, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Pacific Dental Conference, and the Universities of Illinois and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Periodontology, Canadian Academy of Periodontology, and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Po Lee - Taiwan
Session 5 — Periodontology
Founder and Periodontist of Arenastone Dental Clinic in Taiwan (established 2025), Dr. Po Lee also holds an Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Periodontology at Tufts University, USA (since 2023), and serves as Clinical Instructor at National Defense Medical University in Taipei. In 2021, he founded the Pi-rio Continuing Education Team, delivering lectures and hands-on courses in Periodontology and Dental Implantology.
He holds a DDS from Taipei Medical University (2013), completed specialty training in Prosthodontics at Taipei Medical University Hospital (2018), and earned an M.Sc. in Periodontology with specialty training from Tufts University, Boston (2021). He was awarded Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology in 2025.
A Licensed Speaker for Straumann Taiwan, Zeiss, and Devemed, he has delivered over 100 public lectures since 2021. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges prosthodontics and periodontology/implantology, and he is an active continuing education course organizer in Taiwan.
